Mid Year Review

Updated: Jul 30

I've been part of Marie Forleo's Dream Club and just loving it! She's really inspiring me to set big goals and go after them. One of the things she suggests in the middle of each year is to review your year so far and see how it's gone. What are you proud of? What could you do better next time?

Here's a high level summary of how Marie suggests creating a Mid Year Review.

Pick a new journal that you love. You're going to use the same journal for all your mid- year reviews for years to come, so find one you want to stick with. This will be a record of your growth over time.

List out:

  1. What you accomplished and are super proud of (include vacations, fun, big stuff, getting organized, etc.) , Identify which ones were the most important and why.

  2. What lessons you learned, and which lessons were the most important and why

  3. Your feelings- How satisfied are you with the past 6 months? What's working? What's not working? Be honest and self compassionate. (Do this when you're feeling good, well fed, and good sleep.)

  4. Your future - What's next? What goals/ projects/ dreams do you want to achieve in the next 6 months?

When you look at what you've done, remember that your work is progress not perfection!!

I took time while I was on a road trip to Montana to work on this and found that it was insightful.

I had some lessons I had to learn the hard way. I realized that I hadn't been asking for what I needed, and that had caused me to be unhappy with the results. I also realized that a miscommunication had led to hard feelings, which I should have realized earlier.

I also identified some important things that I accomplished over the past six months that I want to remember. Working with my coaching clients and their success really inspiring.

What comes up for you? Does your future include big things that you want to accomplish? I would love to help you make your dreams a reality!
